As the Chosen Children and their partner Digimon live happily together in the human world, Taichi Yagami and Yamato Ishida, who is still alive after being kidnapped by Team DaiMonogatari, are not friends. Their relationship develops gradually as they meet a lot of new people (usually fellow soldiers), which causes them to bond deeper with each other. Yamato can also be described into two different ways - He could be said at this point as cute or strong; while he may sound like an average guy that wants nothing more than for everyone else around him just keep doing what's necessary if it means saving himself from some kind situation... The character really shines during his later years when both characters get developed much further towards adulthood.
